Troubleshooting
Laundry detergent
Always follow the instructions on the container. Liquid and powdered soap go in the soap dispenser and laundry soap pods go straight into the machine with your clothes.
Do Not Overload the Washer
This causes excessive water in the cycle and creates agitation problems.
Front Load Washers do not use as much laundry soap as top load washers. It’s best to use High Efficiency (HE) laundry soap.
There also aren’t as many suds generated in front load washers. Sometimes people don’t see many suds then add more soap, but this is a mistake – its’ not good for your clothes or the machine.
Leave the front load washer door open after the cycle is finished to prevent mildew from accumulating on the door seal.
Dryers
It’s important to empty the lint trap after each drying cycle to prevent the dryer and vents from getting clogged with lint. Clogged dryer vents lead to inefficient heating and are also a fire hazard; it is the responsibility of the property owner or manager to keep the dryer vents clear from excess lint.
- Follow laundry detergent instructions
- Put soap in the correct compartment
- Don’t overload the washer
- Don’t worry about suds
- Keep washer doors open when not in use
- Keep lint traps clean
